Settle for More Summary
Settle for More is supposed to be about struggles of an aspiring journalist and how she made her way up the ladder with hard work and smart moves. Some of this is in the book where, according to New York Times review, the author tells her readers that while others lined up to the boss’ cabin to get to host their dream show, she worked hard at her desk. Her hard work paid off and the show came to her by merit.
However, if you go through the hundreds of reports that have come out, Kelly’s coverage of the 2016 Presidential Election, and specifically the debates with Trump seem to be the focus. And that is not the only male who gets the wrong end of the stick. Kelly also suggests that her former boss at Fox made unwelcome advances and suggested sexual favors for promotion.
Whether readers and hopeful journalists will get something useful career betterment seems unlikely. However, they will get to know what goes behind handling high profile interviewees and the pressures of working at a premium News cast company as a host.
