Now why do you need any more speed than you already have? I could hear my uncles and aunts already arguing about this new Airtel 4G ad. And I am sure the first line of resistance comes from the fact that they see an increase in their monthly bills as their college going kids would soon want to catch up with their friends.
Well, with the college starting soon, the first month of the first year in college can make or break your entire college time. No one wants to hang out with the in-betweeners. You have to be either cool or geeky, or you are nowhere and relegated to eternal obscurity.
I was thinking all of this in my head when the ad came on again and they went back to their original argument, piling on more reasons as to why this new feature was soon going to be a headache.
I am not usually the one to get into these discussions, but I had some time to kill and thought I would try to show them the other side. Just as I was arguing about the pros of having the fastest mobile network, their kids walked in with their heads buried in their phones. No wonder the first thing that came out of their mouth was, “Hey, Dad. We need to get this new network. It is very important that we can access the Internet during class. W even have pop quizzes and the fastest one gets additional marks for the semester.”
You know it, somehow tie in education and there isn’t a living parent who will oppose something like a network upgrade. They were so zapped with this new thing, they continued in the same vein. “Don’t worry, there isn’t any additional money needed for the upgrade. And you know what, we can get it without the usual paperwork hassle. Just tweet #GetAirtel4G, fill in the details in the link they provide, and you can have the new SIM delivered at your doorstep. Ain’t that cool?”
I saw my uncles and aunts murmur a few things it was all set.
