Smartphones have become almost a necessity for frequent travelers, blogger, and business owners on the move. Even those who do not have to communicate for living, cannot stay away from sharing their lives with friends on social media networks. And there is always that weird advertisement or a road situation that we all want to capture and share with the world.
Well, doing all this with a smartphone and multitasking needs a powerful smartphone. I was kind of in a hurry and on a limited budget when I bought my first smartphone some years back. This was the time before budget-friendly, feature rich smartphones hit the market. My smartphone is smart, but it has limited capabilities and perhaps needs to be replaced.
One bitten, twice shy. Because of the first disastrous smartphone shopping experience, I have become very picky. Constant launches of new, powerful phones further complicates choosing the right one this time around. I am looking for a smartphone that has good internal storage.
I want to save it all
I have burnt my fingers with this one. Because I bought one without any research I didn’t realize that many apps need to be installed on internal storage and the expandable memory doesn’t matter. Asus ZenFone2 comes with options and the basic phone comes with a 16GB storage. With this kind of storage I can install all the apps that I want and check any new ones that feel like reviewing.
I don’t like to wait
The smartphone is also the new age game boy. With an array of sensors and sharp graphics, smartphones can give an amazing gaming experience. Zenfone 2 seems to satisfy these requirements and promises uninterrupted experience with its 2.4 GHz processor, on top of other things.
Multitasking is Essential
You have the apps, the amazing display, and a super-fast processor, now more powerful than my computer’s. But all this cannot be of much use unless you have the RAM to run all these apps. My worst experience with the current smartphone is that it fails to respond a lot many times. The memory is overloaded and it is impossible to dial. A phone that cannot dial when needed is useless! This has prompted me to go back to the old phone which never had this problem and never failed to fulfill its primary objective. But I am hopeful. Zenfone2’s 4GB RAM seems adequate to take care of all the apps and still spare some for the basic phone functions – again much more powerful than my computer. I guess, we will soon have all the peripherals connected to the cellphone and completely do away with the computer.
Juiced Up
Doing all these fantastic things with cellphone and doing away with the computer will need some serious battery power. Or I will have to look around for a charging plug everywhere I go. But I think Zenfone2 has a solution for this too. Asus claims that they can get ZenFone2 adequately charged for you within an hour. That sounds good. Even if I have to do it twice in a day, finding a charging port for a couple of hours in a day should not be a problem.
Picture is worth a thousand words
I know the phrase has been beaten to death and you will automatically not read what is coming. But hey, it is true. I can’t think the number of times I wanted to click a snap on the road at night or in a restaurant, but the poor light made it impossible to capture the details. ZenFone2 has a low light mode that promises to get pictures even in the darkest corner bright enough to share on your social networks and get those much wanted Likes.
Well the features seem unbeatable and the F 2.0 lens aperture is even better than the my digital camera. The price of around Rs. 12k or $300 isn’t bad either. I really need to think seriously about a new smartphone and not try to time the price changes or wait for prices to go down further. What about you? Is it time to change your smartphone?
