Unshakeable Book Summary
The author begins by painting the dire circumstances we are in, even after ten years since The Great Recession. He reminds us of the fear that people experienced and the losses that they faced. He shows how the financial world is facing circumstances that no one had imagined. Current interest rates in countries like Japan and Sweden are in the negative territory. That means you are paying the bank to park your money in your accounts, something that has never happened in the history of banking. But he also tells us that there is a way to navigate this mess. And fear is not the answer to securing financial success. The author then tells you about the kind of temperament and some basic financial skills that you need to manage your resources and live a financially secure life.
He advises the current generation to not repeat the mistakes of the past generation and actively invest in the stock markets. But with some rules. He gives you specific tips and directs you to things that you must pay attention to at the time of investment, like the fee you are charged by the Fund you invest in.
The author has met and talked with more than 50 of the world’s greatest financial minds. The second part of the book gives you core principles distilled from these interviews and discussions. Unshakeable Book Review
Overall the book is a good resource if you want to know about Mutual Funds and the pitfalls of investments. Although the author highlights the current uncertainty, he advises the readers not to shy away from investing in stocks as they will give the best returns when it comes to long-term investments. Unshakeable gives you a cliff notes version about how you can maximize your returns and points to things that you should look for while making investment in funds.
Other reviewers agree to the usefulness of the book, however, believe that the content is very similar to his previous book Money: Master the Game. So readers who are familiar with that book may not get a lot new in this version.
